tis the season

it's the holidays. lindsey and i are going to michigan tomorrow to enjoy ourselves and her our family. holidays are always an intense time of tremendous emotions, memories, pressure, expectations, family dynamics, and on and on. part of the rub during these times, now that lindsey and i are married, is that we are creating our own family system.
we are experiencing, as we did at our very own wedding, the value of hating our old family systems and embracing the new family system that we believe our Father is creating in our home. it is this very hating that allows us, though, to love those parts of the old systems, but more importantly allowing us to love our family more deeply and more grace-fully.
our eyes are opening, thus we will look. we will be watchful and prayerful, with loving hearts that are real and vulnerable. it should be will be an exciting time.

perfect makes practice

practice makes discernment. a sharpening of our senses by an inward righteousness. no longer do we obey our senses for discernment, but our senses are trained by His Spirit in our spirit... by faith.
